We are pleased to offer adaptive events for independent runners with assistance or in wheelchairs.

For both categories, the organization reserves the right to require medical documentation.

Autonomous runners with assistance

  • Individuals with a physical, mental, or visual disability that significantly limits their ability to run
  • Must be able to cover the entire distance of the event on their own
  • Must be accompanied by a support runner

All events are accessible by adaptive means.

The eligible athlete must register first. A promotional code will then be sent to the athlete to register the accompanying person.

  • Athletes: regular price on race roster
  • Accompanying runners: free (without kit) or 50% discount (with full kit)*

 

*The accompanying runner will not receive a timing chip. Only the runner’s time will be recorded.

Specially designed for easy identification

  • If used, the tie between the runner and the support runner must not exceed 61 cm in length.
  • It is mandatory that the athlete and the support runner have trained together prior to the event.
  • The support runner must not push, carry or pull the athlete he or she is accompanying during the race.
  • The support runner may not have sustained (prolonged) physical contact with the athlete he or she is accompanying. He or she may assist the athlete in regaining balance, standing up, etc.

Wheelchair athletes

  • Must be accompanied by a support runner.
  • The support runner must keep one hand on the wheelchair at all times.
  • Start at the end, in the last corral

All events are wheelchair accessible.

  • Same process as independent runners with assistance.
  • Registration on race roster

Motorized wheelchairs not allowed

  • Bibs must be worn by both participants
  • No headphones allowed
  • General event rules must be followed
