New Identity for COURONS

Courons Mtl

The Marathon Beneva de Montréal and the 21K Nespresso de Montréal have run under the Courons MTL banner for several years. Today, the brand is taking a new name: COURONS. Developed by agency Nosolo, this new identity reflects a bigger ambition: keeping running alive well beyond race day.

A New Identity Built for Where COURONS Is Headed

The name is deliberately simple: COURONS. A verb. A collective call to run. Dropping “MTL” was about more than looks.

“The ambition was always to make COURONS a reference in the running world, not just in Montréal. Without MTL, the name opens up. It’s more inclusive and more honest about what we’re building.”

— Alex Ratthé, Executive Director

The name comes with a new logo, a bold typeface designed to suggest movement, and a symbol that travels with it everywhere: a winged shoe, rooted in the imagery of the swift messenger of antiquity. The agency also built a full visual world inspired by historical frescoes, with knights, horses, and banners, giving the story of running real depth without ever tipping into kitsch.

“A strong brand makes people want to wear it. That was the goal with COURONS: something cohesive that people genuinely want to claim as their own. When it’s playful, it’s always easier to bring people along.”

— Sann Sava, Creative Director, Nosolo

COURONS IT GOES FAR

COURONS speaks as a community that loves running and believes in what people can accomplish together. Because running isn’t about one day. It’s built stride by stride. It takes persistence, forges real connections, and means the most when it’s shared.

The new tagline, “It goes far,” says it plainly.

“It goes far is a promise to runners: to see beyond the start line, to imagine something bigger, a whole community moving forward together.”

Marie-Ève Otis, co-founder of CO-Marketing and Marketing Communications Director at COURONS.

A transformation that reaches every touchpoint

This new identity won’t stay in the organization’s communications alone. COURONS will gradually take shape across the full community experience, from digital to on-the-ground: website, social media, newsletters, events, signage, and the course itself.

It’s also part of a broader ambition for the brand.

“It’s almost a seal of approval: a race organized by COURONS means a standard that holds its own against any race in the world, medically and on the course.”

— Alex Ratthé, Executive Director

Despite the scale of the visual change, the experience stays the same.

“The on-course experience will stay true to what we’ve always tried to bring to our races. What’s really changing is the visual identity.”

Marie-Ève Otis, co-founder of CO-Marketing and Marketing Communications Director at COURONS.

COURONS will keep growing its events and its community, anchored by one conviction: growth only means something if the participant’s experience grows with it.

Welcome to COURONS.
It goes far.
