At COURONS, sustainability is part of how we do things. Year after year, we look for ways to reduce our environmental footprint, deepen our social commitments, and give back to the communities that welcome us.
In partnership with Planetair, we measure and offset the greenhouse gas emissions our events generate.
That includes energy used by buildings and equipment, travel by our team, exhibitors, staff, and volunteers, food, promotional items, and waste management.
Reducing our impact is never finished.
That’s why we revisit our practices every year, with one goal: making each event greener than the last.
In partnership with the Echo-Logique consortium, we ensure effective waste management at all our venues.
Our event T-shirts are offered as a low-cost option to reduce waste.
All our official shirts, participant and volunteer, are made from recycled materials, supporting the circular economy.
Our refreshment stations use recyclable paper cups at all our events.
We prioritize the use of reusable tableware in our VIP area in order to limit waste production at source.
Sustainability also means building more inclusive events, supporting our community, and investing in the local economy.
We mobilize over 2,000 volunteers for all of our annual events.
We offer equal prize money for men and women in all of our elite programs.
We prefer local suppliers for all of our event needs.
Our adaptive sports program extends to all of our races for inclusive participation.
We have added a non-binary category to all of our events.
